The chapter Safety Professional of the Year award, or SPY, is an honor acknowledging the dedication and outstanding contributions of one National Capital Chapter ASSE member.
The 2016-17 NCC-ASSE SPY recipient is Marcus Odorizzi, CSP, ASP, Safety & Risk Manager for the City of Rockville, Maryland.
Mr, Odorizzi has made outstanding contributions to the chapter, serving as President in 2015-16, as well as chapter President-Elect, Treasurer, and Delegate.
He has also advanced the safety profession by overseeing safety programs that have been successful in reducing work-related injuries.
He led the City of Rockville to successfully reduce OSHA recordable cases by 50% and was recognized in 2016 as the Claims Award from the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT) for the city’s exemplary efforts to process claims and control losses.
In 2015, Mr, Odorizzi was recognized National Safety Council (NSC) Rising Stars of Safetyo Under age 40 that demonstrate leadership and dedication to safety at work.
